In early 2003, Keystone main street suffered a
devistating fire. The fire was later ruled arson, and was found to have been
started in a trash can along the raised and covered boardwalk walkway. One
bright spot in all of this was the quick action of the fire fighters who
battled to save main street. As you can see from the pictures above, Main
street Keystone consists of several businesses that are either connected to
each other, or in separate buildings
that are no more than two to three feet apart. While the businesses in the
area of where the fire started were totally lost, many of the businesses on
that side of the road were saved and opened for business as usual that
summer. The pictures below show the burned-out areas. |
