[ Black Hills Photo Gallery - Rapid City - The Berlin Wall Exhibit / Memorial Park ] Stop two on the Rapid City Star Tour is Memorial Park and The Berlin Wall Exhibit. It is located just south of the Civic Center near Downtown Rapid City. The Berlin Wall Exhibit in Rapid City is America's largest such exhibit. The exhibit features two 12-foot segments of the wall as well as other original items. Memorial Park was built after the june 1972 flood that ravaged the town. It was built as a memorial to the 238 people who died during the flood. It also commemorates the heroes of the armed forces. The exhibit and park is free of charge and is open all year. NOTE: Be sure to check out the Formal Gardens section for information and pictures of the Memorial Park Rose Gardens. These are the two wall segments. Notice the tank trap in front.
