[ Black Hills Photo Gallery - Rapid City - South Dakota Air & Space Museum ] With 28 aircraft and missles on display, the South Dakota Air & Space Museum is a favorite destination for any aviation buff. Included in the displays are General Eisenhower's personal B-25 transport as well as a Minuteman II Missile Launch Control Center. A short bus ride from the museum will give you the opportunity to tour Ellsworth Air Force Base and a Minuteman Missile Silo, the only such silo open to the public. The South Dakota Air & Space Museum is located next to Ellsworth Air Force Base approximately 10 miles east of Rapid City on Interstate 90. Admission is free. The museum is open year round, and the bus tours are available during the summer months.
