[ Black Hills Photo Gallery - Central Hills - Crazy Horse Monument ]

Crazy Horse Monument is a mountain carving in progress. It is a non-profit undertaking that is being funded by only private donations and entrance fees. Because it is still a work in progress, frequent blasting can be seen from the observation deck of the visitors center. On the grounds are the history of the sculpter's family as well as several other historical points of interest dealing with the history of the Black Hills and the Native American people.

Crazy Horse Monument is located four miles north of Custer on US Highway 16 - 385. It is open daily year-round.
